"Surprise! Surprise! some more," says Gomer
February 1, 2007

Gomer was busy sipping eggnog last December, so he missed Vivismo's announcement that they will develop a Documentum- friendly tool with which to search Enterprise Content.

In its December 16 press release Vivismo proclaimed that it has joined the EMC Documentum Developer program. I wonder if they actually got certified as EMC Proven Professional Application Developer (EMCAD) Specialists. (Just kidding, I think.)

In any case, with its Velocity 5 enterprise search platform, Vivismo claims to provide organizations with "innovative flexibility and control of enterprise software with the simplicity and familiarity of consumer search." That's music to a Google and LiveSearch enthusiast's ears.

I'm officially inviting anyone who reads this blog (we know we have plenty of readers, but we'd love to have some commentators) to differentiate between all the different (old and new) ways docbases can be searched.

In my next post I'll tell you about another Enterprise Content Search tool. Will there ever be enough of them?

Despite my sometimes sarcastic tone, I'm excited about all the new tools, software and services (ASP's 2.0 rock) being created. It feels like 1999-2001.5 again.

Creativity is alive and well in my homeland!
